Ana de Lara has been working in visual arts since 2019 as a way to express her thoughts, reflections, and emotions about the surrounding nature.
She graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Seville in 2019 and later, in 2020, completed a master’s degree in Art: Idea and Production. She has extended her studies in visual arts at Akademii Sztuk Pięknych, in Łodz (Poland). Before entering these programs, she attended high school at the Mateo Inurria School of Art in Córdoba and also took painting and drawing classes since childhood. During her academic journey, she specialized in painting, landscape, and new media. Since then, her work and studies have been focused on landscape as a social experience, with a political and poetic approach. In 2019, she received an Honorable Mention in the Landscape Course in Priego de Córdoba, and in 2020, she participated in various group exhibitions, such as «Concepto y Sntimiento» at Espacio Cero Gallery, curated by Fernando Francés, and «Abstrahêre,» a project coordinated by Paco Lara-Barranco at Espacio Laraña.
Upon completing her academic journey in 2020, she was selected for the Residency Grant from the Antonio Gala Foundation for Young Creators. During her residency, she worked on a painting project inspired by icy deserts, snow, and human activity in those environments.
Throughout her career, she has received other recognitions, including the Residency Grant from MAC Florencio de la Fuente (Huete) and being selected for the Andalusian University Artists BIUNIC Biennial held at the Valentín de Madariaga Foundation in Seville. Additionally, she has participated in other collective art projects, such as «Every Place, Memory, and Desire» curated by Mario Guixeras at the Rafael Botí Foundation of Plastic Arts (Córdoba), «Inside/Outside» at el Chico Gallery (Madrid), and the traveling exhibition of the UNIA Painting Prize 2021.
Recently, she showcased her first solo exhibition at Magasé Art Gallery (Seville) with the project «PLANTASIA» (2023), and she also took part in groups exhibitions, such as the one curated by Pablo Castañeda titled «What Plants Don’t Talk About?» at Marisa Marimón Gallery (Ourense), or «Pintores de Sevilla» at FVMO. Her artwork is part of collections: the Antonio Gala Foundation, Loyola University, the University of Seville, MAC Florencio de la Fuente, and several other private collections.
